The Yarn Story

Peer Gynt has been a Sandnes Garn staple since 1938, and once you work with it, it's easy to see why it has stuck around this long. It's 100% Norwegian wool, spun to be both soft against the skin and sturdy enough to hold its shape through years of wear. That combination makes it a natural fit for large garments and for stitch patterns with some complexity to them, cables and colourwork included.

Why Make the Frankie Sweater

The Frankie Sweater is a versatile sweater that can be dressed up or dressed down, depending on your mood.  The stripes add interest both visually and while knitting.  Since this is a top down construction, you can make the sweater as long as you like.

Construction Overview

The Frankie Sweater is a top-down, in the round construction with raglan increases on the yoke.  The sweater also features short row shaping along the back of the neckline for a good fit.  The sleeves are also worked in the round.  One very nice item to note, the stripes continue across the sleeves and body to create a seemless look.

What You'll Need

  • Pattern:  Frankie Sweater by PetiteKnit (pattern found on Ravelry or PetiteKnit website)
