Shipping policy

Canada

We ship throughout Canada from Norfolk County, Ontario. We process orders during regular business hours and endeavour to send them out as quickly as possible. Store fulfillment time may vary between 1-3 days.

We are pleased to offer free shipping for any order over $175.00 within Canada. Free shipping is calculated based on $175.00 AFTER all discounts and promotions.  Up to $175.00, we offer a flat rate shipping of $13.95.  All packages will ship with a courier company (ie: Purolator, Fedex or UPS).

This includes $100.00 of insurance and will also include a tracking number.  If you wish to purchase additional insurance, please email me at yarnplease@thewoolpirate.com and I will get you a quote.   

Please ensure you have inputted the correct address at the time of checkout.  We cannot be responsible for incorrect addresses and will ship to the provided address.  Please ensure the address is correct, especially if you use the autofill feature which can sometimes have errors. 

As we use couriers, we cannot ship to a PO Box.  Please ensure you have a street address that a courier can deliver to.  

All parcels over $400 will be shipped with signature required.

If you live in Norfolk County, Ontario, there is a "local pick-up" option available where your order can be picked up locally. We will contact you once we receive your order to make arrangements. 

We cannot be responsible if your package doesn't arrive, is lost in the mail or shows up late. You will need to contact the courier company (ie: Purolator) directly for more information if you experience any delays or issues. 


Pick-Up Policy

We’re happy to offer local pick-up as a convenience for our customers. If an order is placed for pick-up but is later unable to be collected, we’re happy to ship it to you instead. However, please note the following:

  • A 15% handling fee will be applied to any order originally marked as pick-up but later changed to shipping.

  • Shipping costs will also be charged as calculated by the courier at the time of dispatch.

We appreciate your understanding, as packing, processing, and handling add time and costs not originally included with pick-up orders. If you’re unsure whether you’ll be able to pick up your order, we kindly recommend selecting shipping at checkout.

We reserve the right to make changes to this shipping policy at our discretion.

United States

We are pleased to offer free shipping for any order over $175.00 to the United States, main land only.  (Please see below for Hawaii and US Virgin Islands).  Free shipping is calculated based on $175.00 AFTER all discounts and promotions.  Orders up to $175.00, we offer a flat rate shipping charge of $17.95.  Your package may ship with Canada Post / United States Postal Service, or a courier company (ie: Purolator, Fedex or UPS).

As of right now, all tariffs (customs, duties) are calculated and shown at check out.  These are collected by Shopify and remitted on your behalf.  You should not incur any additional costs when the package arrives at your door.

Due to the cost of shipping, I am unable to offer flat rate shipping at this time or a free shipping threshold.  The cost of shipping is calculated during the checkout process and depends on the weight and shipping location.  You will be given choices to the level of shipping you would like which will tell you approximately delivery times as well as if the package is tracked and insured.  

If you pick a shipping level that does not include tracking or insurance, I'm sorry, but we cannot be responsible if the package is lost.  If you pick a shipping level with tracking, the tracking number will be sent to you in a confirmation email.
