GGH Volante – DK Weight Wool & Cotton Blend
Pearish is a quietly elegant slipover designed for those in-between seasons when the weather can’t quite make up its mind. With a simple cable panel running down the front and minimal shaping, this top is easy to knit, endlessly wearable, and perfect for layering as the days warm and cool again.
For this project, we’ve paired Pearish with GGH Volante, a delightful DK weight blend of 55% merino wool and 45% cotton, made in Italy. Volante offers the best of both fibres—the gentle warmth and elasticity of wool combined with cotton’s breathability and smoothness. The result is a fabric that feels cozy yet light, ideal for transitional garments you’ll reach for again and again.
Volante has a smooth, even texture that shows cables beautifully, making it a wonderful choice for Pearish’s central cable panel. It’s soft to knit with, wears comfortably against the skin, and is easy to care for—machine washable on a gentle cycle and laid flat to dry.
Pearish is designed to be worn with positive ease for a relaxed, modern fit. The instructions are both written and charted, and the pattern has been professionally tech-edited, so you can knit with confidence. Whether you wear it on its own or layered over a blouse or dress, Pearish is a versatile wardrobe staple that feels thoughtful, timeless, and just a little luxurious.
Yarn
Depending on your size and desired fit, you’ll need between 5 and 14 balls of GGH Volante to knit your Pearish slipover.
Needles
• US 4 / 3.5mm circular needles *
• US 6 / 4mm circular needles *
* No needle lengths are listed. It is recommended to have various lengths of circular needles on hand to accommodate different numbers of stitches. For the neck and sleeve ribbing, any method of working small circumferences in the round (short circular, double-pointed, two circulars or a long circular for magic loop) may be used, as preferred.
